Chanclas y Cervezas Earns Official Fiesta Designation

Both Fiesta officials and elected officials came out to The Green Line at Brooks to officially welcome the new Southside San Antonio event to the list of officially sanctioned Fiesta events for San Antonio. The family-friendly Chanclas y Cervezas started off with an official ceremony with representative from Live Brooks, and Brooks Gives Back, the nonprofit that benefits from Chanclas y Cervezas and gives back to the Southside community.

Chanclas y Cervezas started three years ago, weathered a pandemic, and came back with an incredible inaugural Fiesta San Antonio event this year. From the food vendors, celebrity influencers, and musical performers, to the hundreds of families who came out to enjoy the festivities, it was a cumbia-infused celebration that is now set to be a staple of Fiesta in the years to come. I was honored to be asked to emcee the event, and we are already looking forward to next year!
