Blissfulness In The Form Of Cheesecake Kicks Off Our 21/21

Every Wednesday we #SupportLocalSA and highlight local businesses on my show from 3-7PM on 104.5 Latino Hits. We've just launched a series of local spotlights with my list of 21 local San Antonio businesses you need to know in 2021. There are so many amazing local businesses to choose from, but we've narrowed it down to 21 that you need to know in 2021.

For our first spotlight we wanted to feature something that brings joy to all of us. Desserts, typically bring us joy, and this dessert has some winning history behind it. Cheesecake was said to have been served to athletes at the first Olympic Games in 776 B.C. to give them energy. While I'm less of an athlete these days, I'm still an avid foodie, meaning I love to EAT! Just look at some of these amazing desserts from Laika Cheesecake and Espresso in Alamo Heights.

I chatted with owner Anna Afamasieva about launching her dessert shop in the middle of a pandemic in our podcast episode for business #21. She talks about Laika the space dog, her relentless pursuit for the perfect dessert, and why her cheesecake is out of this world! Check out the podcast below to learn more about Laika Cheesecake and Espresso located at 4718 Broadway in Alamo Heights, San Antonio, TX 78209.
