Cumbia Power With SA's Volcán

If you're from San Antonio, chances are that you've seen or heard of Volcán. If you haven't heard of them, then allow me to be the first to introduce you to what some label the "face of San Antonio." I asked them why they feel fans gave them this title, we talked about being Latino in the US, the differences between a placa and a comal, and more! Plus, we give you a tiny sneak peak at their new song "TU ME ELEVAS". One of the things that I love most about this band is that they take great pride in being able to bring people together, and I think anyone who puts hard work and passion into bringing folks together deserves some love.

Fact: Cumbias bring people together. This week we catch up with a 13-piece indie orquesta Latina, all millennials who have a deep passion for sounds from generations past, and a commitment to making them relevant today. Volcán is serving cumbias up in hipster venues across the great state of Texas. Join us as we break bread and talk about the SATX music scene, the rich culture that has influenced their sound, and how they bridge society's cultural gaps through cumbias.

You can show them love this Saturday March 30, 2019 for their "TU ME ELEVAS" single release party at Jandero's Garden Patio 2623 N. St. Mary's St. San Antonio, TX 78212. There's a $7 cover and it's 21+. Volcán take the stage at 11PM and will also be joined by Grupo Frackaso and Gio Chamba for some San Antonio sonidos.
