Vietti Food Group recalled "4,515 cases of its Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans" on May 2 due to the undeclared presence of a common allergen.
According to the United States Food & Drug Administration, the recalled product, distributed to retail stores across 23 states (including stores in Texas) was mislabeled and did not include an ingredient callout for soy, which poses the risk of "serious or life-threatening reactions" to individuals allergic to the missing ingredient.
Consumers should avoid consuming Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans cans with Best By Date Feb 17, 2028. The information can be found on the bottom of each individual can.
There have been no allergic reactions reported as a result of consuming the mislabeled Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans as of May 5. Officials are urging consumers who have a soy allergy to discard the product and avoid consumption. Customers can also return the item to the place they purchased it for a full refund.
