If you thought gardening was all about getting your hands dirty, think again. A new trend is taking over that's taking it to a whole new level — naked gardening. Yes, you read that right!
National Naked Gardening Day is celebrated on the first Saturday in May — so get ready for May 6! The holiday was created in 2005 as a nudist movement to "discourage body shaming and encourage acceptance of all forms of the human body," while also giving people the opportunity to experience a true connection to nature, according to You Should Grow.
In honor of this unconventional holiday, LawnStarter compiled a list of the best cities in the entire country to partake in naked gardening. "We compared the 200 biggest U.S. cities based on nudist population size, indecent exposure laws, and, of course, gardener-friendliness," the lawn service site said about its ranking. "We also looked at weather forecasts, access to waxing salons, and sex offender listings, among 12 total metrics."
The best city in the U.S. to naked garden is Miami. Texas is surprisingly represented pretty well on this list, with the No. 2 overall city to garden in the nude in being Austin! Here's a look at the top cities in Texas for naked gardening:
