In 2003 the Puertorriqueño Yandel released his album ‘Quien Contra Mi’, it featured 12 tracks including artist like Tego Calderon, Alexis and Fido. Now 17 years later, Yandel releases ‘Quien Contra Mi 2’ and it comes packing more heat than the first album. This new album comes with 22 tracks and features 28 different artist like J Balvin, Maluma, Ozuna, Nicky Jam and one surprise collaboration with Snoop Dogg.
During this pandemic and staying in lockdown due to COVID-19, Yandel spent most of his time in the studio and home on Orlando. “I’ve spent time between my house and my studio. That’s my routine for the past 100-plus days,” said Yandel in a recent interview with Billboard. “I’m always in the studio working on new stuff, even when I don’t have a release coming out; so I’m always ready,” added Yandel.
The album was released under Yandel’s label, Y Entertainment. This new album comes with a refresh of the new reggaeton generation, to that classic and aggressive reggaeton beats. The first track of the new album is titled ‘Quien Contra Mi’, it’s really not a song but a history of Yandel and his struggles from childhood in a Puerto Rican ghetto, and a motivational message for younger listeners. The first song teased was ‘No Te Vayas’ with J Balvin. The song was premiered with a music video that was directed by Carlos Perez, who directed songs like ‘Parece Viernes’ by Marc Anthony, and the record holder for most views in YouTube, ‘Despacito’ by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee.
